Gould Takes 1st Checkered in the Modified
The Gould Motorsports team ended out the year at Skyline Speedway on October 8th. Which was one of the best runs of the year for the team but had to work for it. Gary went up and drew a 48 pill so that put him 10th in his heat (last). The track was slick and was hard to pass so he made it up to 7th which made him run in the B-Main.
He started 4th in the B-Main and the team made a few more adjustments for the track and Gould went to the outside to try to get to the front. Which he did, worked his way up into the 2nd position right behind Jason Brooks a good go-kart friend. Then the caution came out with a Green - White - Checkered Finish. Gould tried the outside again on the restart but only got to Brooks bumper going down the back stretch then coming out of 4 Brooks got a little sideways from the slick track and could not save it and spun out. That left Gary in the lead looking at the Checkered Flag for his first B-Main Win. "It felt great to get a win in this series from moving from Pure Stocks. Even though it was a B-Main it felt like the Feature Event with all of the competition. What topped it all off was my Grandpa came down and was in the stands watching me get my first win and he got to enjoy the big win with the team".
