Joe Trenca and Mucci Motorsports Continue to Make Steady Progress in 2013; Granby and Drummondville up Next With Empire Super Sprints

As anticipated for Joe Trenca and the Mucci Motorsports team, the 2013 is very much a learning season as the young drivers continues to adapt to 360 Sprint Car racing. The team has a brand new car this year, and already the team has shown great improvements from their rookie season last year.

The season started at Can Am a few weeks ago, and the team chased some early season gremlins. Although they were much better in the B-main, they did not have the track position to contend for a qualifying spot, and were unable to make the show.

It was a much better result at Woodhull Speedway as Joe made his first ever start on the high banked bullring on Saturday, May 11th. The track is a tough one to figure out, and when the race ended, Joe was still searching for the right lane. Overall the night was a success, as he ended the night with a 13th place result, and the experience gained was valuable to the entire team.

The next stop with the Empire Super Sprint Tour was at Selinsgrove Speedway in Pennsylvania. This famed track has some of the top 360 Sprint Car competitors in action, and just to qualify would be a great accomplishment. Trenca raced his way into the show through the qualifying heat race, silencing anyone that may have doubted that he could make the field. They struggled to a 23rd place finish in the A-main, but proud of their accomplishments of making the show, when many of the top drivers did not.

The most recent race on the schedule for Trenca and Mucci Motorsports was this past Sunday night at Utica Rome Speedway in Vernon, New York. He qualified into the A-main with a fourth place finish in the preliminary qualifying heat race, and started the main event from the 9th position. They struggled early, falling back to as low as 23rd at one point, but recovered to finish a very respectable 13th place.

This coming weekend, Joe Trenca and the Mucci Motorsports team will pack up and head north to Canada for the Empire Super Sprints invasion of Quebec, with events at Autodrome Granby on Friday night, and Autodrome Drummond on Saturday.

Joe Trenca and Mucci Motorsports would like to thank all of their sponsors for 2013 season. They include TI22 Performance, Fast Axle, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Schoenfeld Headers, Seals-It, Shutes Water Systems, Senior Services Inc. and the National Part Peddler.
