New England Dwarf Car Series

Harwood Victorious at New London Waterford Speedbowl!

Waterford, CT - The New England Dwarf Car Series presented by Construction Site Machinery headed to The New London Waterford Speedbowl for the first time ever! The series also kicked off The Bumpy’s Auto Service of Salem, NH Crusade for the Crown with 16 Dwarf Cars in pits to show the fans a great show!

2022 Series Champion Cody Hodgdon in the 31 paced the first round of practice with the second round of practice being paced by the series winningest driver Tom Harwood in the 29. Unfortunately the 19 of Chris Waites would lose his engine during practice ending his day. Heat races would be won by Jason Hodgdon 31H and Eric Bacon in the 26.

Zig Geno (57) and Ryan Carman (08) would start on the front row after the invert but it would be Bacon leading lap number one! Geno would be close in tow applying pressure throughout the first 20 laps. Geno would try to make a pass on lap lap 20 and contact would send him sideways into the infield putting dirt on the track. Geno would save it and only fall back to 5th place. Unfortunately for Bacon he would make contact on lap 21 with a lap car ending his day as the caution flew for the dirt on the track.

Jason Hodgdon would assume the lead with Ryan Carman taking over 2nd. The real story would be Harwood who started 10th and found the outside groove to get himself up to 3rd and into the conversation for the win. Jason Hodgdon took the lead on the restart with Harwood in hot pursuit. Unfortunately for Jason Hodgdon the caution would cool his tires off and impact the handling of his car negatively.

Lap 24 Harwood made the pass for the lead! With Geno getting by Jason Hodgdon on lap 27 to take over the 2nd spot and then on lap 29, Cody Hodgdon would find his way around his dad for the 3rd spot. Jason Hodgdon held on for 4th despite Ryan Carman trying his best to get by before settling for 5th.
