Brian Shirley 10th in shortened-USA Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway

Following the World of Outlaw Case Late Model Series further North, Brian Shirley checked into Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wis.) on Thursday afternoon for the first night of the USA Nationals.

With World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series officials pushing Thursday's program to Friday afternoon due to wet track conditions, Shirley started off his weekend by getting caught in a pileup during the first prelim which resulted in a 22nd-place finish. For Friday evening's $6,000-to-win preliminary feature, Brian faired much better with a Top-5 finish in fourth.

Starting fourth in Saturday's $50,000-to-win finale, Shirley faded a few positions but managed a Top-10 finish in 10th before rain showers shortened the feature to 56 laps.

Shirley is currently eighth in the series point standings.
