Trio of Top-10 finishes with World of Outlaws; fourth-place finish in Battle at the Border finale
Rescheduling the Billy Winn Classic to this weekend, the Bob Cullen Racing team followed the World of Outlaw Case Late Model Series to Bedford (Pa.) Speedway on Thursday afternoon.
Charging from fourth-to-first for a heat race victory, Brian redrew the pole position for the 45-lap feature and led the opening lap before falling to second. Popping a tire on lap 20, Shirley battled his way back to a Top-10 finish in eighth.
With two days of action on tap at Sharon Speedway (Hartford, Ohio) Friday and Saturday, Shirley recorded a ninth-place finish in the Battle at the Border opener before racing to his best outing of the weekend with fourth-place in the $15,000 finale.
Shirley is currently ninth in the point standings.
