Disaster Stikes in Third Round of Wild West Shootout

On Wednesday night, Brian Shirley was one of 57 Super Late Models to converge at FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Ariz. for round three of the 15th Annual Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout.

A runner-up finish in his heat race would earn Brian the tenth starting position for the $5,000-to-win mid-week feature. Shirley quickly made his into the Top-5 and was running fourth when he was caught up in a melee on lap 6 that would bring his night to an early end. (Mike Ruefer Photo)
