The 44th Annual Wrisco Industries Winternationals drew a field of 62 entries to start the six-day event on Monday. A second-place finish in his heat race earned Brian the seventh spot on the $5,000-to-win feature grid. Unfortunately, contact with another competitor while running eighth would cause Shirley to spin, ultimately resulting in an 18th place finish in the final rundown.

Returning on Tuesday night, Shirley failed to reach a transfer position in his preliminary efforts, forcing his to utilize a series provisional to start the $5,000-to-win main event. Brian advanced several spots early in the 30-lapper before handling issues on his No. 3s resulted in a 25th place finish at the checkered flag.

Wednesday evening saw the winner's check increased to $7,000 as 58 entries took part in the event. Brian started his night with a fifth-place finish in his heat race, sending him to a b-main. Shirley would later win his b-main, which positioned him starting 20th on the feature grid. The main event saw Brian mount a strong run through the field, advancing 15 spots to finish fifth behind race winner Tim McCreadie, Brandon Overton, Brandon Sheppard, and Tyler Erb.

On Thursday night another $7,000-to-win slate was contested at the 1/3-mile oval. Brian qualified sixth-fastest in his group before finishing second in his heat race to lock into the 11th-starting spot for the 40-lap feature. Shirley broke into the Top-10 early and went on to cross the finish line in eighth.
