"Salute to Indy" at Canyon Speedway Park
We just rolled through Flagstaff on our way to Canyon Speedway for the two-day "Salute to Indy" with USAC Southwest. Tonight and tomorrow will be our first time back to Phoenix since we got rained out with USAC Cra. All six times we've been to Canyon this year we have been able to capture a top ten and the last three visits resulted in top fives. Since the last time we were there, I was also able to get my first nonwing win of the year at Motiva Speedway. Needles to say, we hope to keep up the good pace and we would love to go get a win or two. It's going to be a fun couple if days!
Our last few trips were with the World of Outlaws at El Paso Speedway Park for one day and then Devil's Bowl Speedway another two (which will be aired on CBS Sports at a layer date). Each night, we struggled with getting speed for qualifying which set us back for the rest of the night. We were able to make the A feature for all three, and we had a descent car in each but we still have some work to do with the wing car. Unfortunately, we also tore up a car the last night at Devil's Bowl when I ended up getting off the edge of the backstretch and found concrete off if turn three. The front of the frame was moved over and it bent the LR frame rail so we are currently fixing that car and we have another Maxim Chassis being built right now to get back winged racing.
Our schedule beyond this weekend still us to be determined. The website will be updated with the events that we plan on making as we go along.
