Kronfuss Conquers in ASCS Rocky Mountain Opener at Rock Springs
Lonnie Wheatley, ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (June 12, 2009) – Brent Kronfuss pounced on Joshua Hodges one miscue to top Friday night’s season opening 25-lap feature event for the ASCS Rocky Mountain Region at Sweetwater Speedway.

Kronfuss paced the final handful of circuits to capture his first career ASCS Rocky Moutain Region win in front of past series champion Randi Miller, with Joe McCarthey and Jake Ossenfort earning the final two lock-in positions to Saturday night’s weekend finale by finishing third and fourth.

Hailing from Tijeras, NM, young gun Hodges shot into the lead from the pole position at the outset and paced the opening 20 rounds before running afoul of lapped traffic.

Kronfuss assumed the point and led the remaining laps. Dustin Hall rounded out the top five behind the lock-in drivers, with Willy Hernandez, Jeremy McCune, Randy Pierce, Brett Ream and Hodges completing the top ten.

Hodges, Miller and McCarthy topped heat race action, with Ream winning the “B” Main.
