Jeremy races to a 5th place finish

Jeremy Schultz and the Sherm Nation headed to Beaver Dam Raceway on 5/17/14. This would be the second night on the new clay for the Interstate Racing Association (IRA). Jeremy was hoping to do better than the 7th place finish he had received the time before.

The night would start out with the team drawing a 40 pill which put them going out 18th out of 27 cars. When qualifying was over Jeremy would end up 9th quick. This would set him up to start on the outside of the second row of the third heat.

After a little bit of a rough start to the heat Jeremy would find himself in the 4th position. He would settle in for the next couple laps and start moving forward. By lap 6 he was into second position but Travis Whitney would be too far out in front to be run down.

That would automatically transfer the 5J Sprint Car into the feature. The invert drawn was a two which would put Jeremy in the 7th starting spot for the feature. At the drop of the flag Jeremy would find the bottom to his liking and would stay down there for the first few laps. After the field got spread out a little bit Jeremy would try the top but after a few laps and a couple of cautions Jeremy would move back down to the bottom and pass a couple of cars. When the checkered was thrown Jeremy would end up with a solid top five finish.

Next week Sherm Nation will head to Wilmot on Saturday and to 141 Speedway on Sunday.
