Wild Child Wins At 34 Raceway
PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting off to a slow start in the 2014 season, Jac Haudenschild and his Destiny Motorsports team had a strong weekend that resulted in Haudenschild picking up the team’s first win of the season Sunday night at the 34 Raceway in Burlington, IA.
By way of a pill draw, Haudenschild lined his MonDak Portables/Renegade Rentals/Champion Lubricants No. 9w up on the front row of his heat race, and the Wooster, OH driver, went on to grab the win, and earn a spot in the Dash.
Lining up third in the Dash, the ‘Wild Child’ finished in the fourth spot, and by way of the winner’s pill-draw, would line up for the feature event in the third row.
As the race got underway, Haudenschild was on the prowl early, as he jumped up to the fourth spot, as he chased after Wayne Johnson who was just in front of him.
By the sixth lap ‘Haud’ had moved into the third spot, as the leaders were in heavy traffic. Taking the second spot from Johnson on the 13th lap, Haudenschild began tracking down Bret Triplett who was struggling in traffic.
With two-to-go, Haudenschild caught and passed Triplett, and was flawless over the final two-laps to pick up his first career Sprint Invaders win.
“This was a great little track, and I’m glad we decided to come here,” Haudenschild said. “The boys had this car working great, and it’s nice to win. I have to thank Rick and Barb Rogers for the opportunity they have given me.”
One night earlier the team was in action at the 81 Speedway in Wichita, KS, and also put on a very good show.
Starting ninth in heat race action, again by pill-draw, Haudenschild worked is way up to the fourth spot at the finish, and his passing points locked him into the feature event where he lined up in the 16th spot.
In the feature event, the track took rubber early, but the “Wild Child” was able to get his Benic Enterprises/Rick Rogers Construction/Triple X No. 9w working as he charged to the front against a stout field of cars.
As the race drew to a close, Haudenschild worked his way to a fourth place finish, and went on to finish there.
Heading to the scales for post race technical inspection, Haudenschild failed to meet the minimum weight requirements after the tires were completely burnt up, and he was disqualified.
Destiny Motorsports would like to thank MonDak Portables, Benic Enterprises, Rick Rogers Construction, Renegade Rentals, Triple X Race Components, Boss Signs and Graphics, Driver Websites, Petersen Media, Tony Stewart Racing, GME Manufacturing, ButlerBuilt, Simpson Race Products, Kistler Engines, Keizer Wheels, DMI, Red Devil Brakes, Champion Oil, and Hoosier Tire for their support in 2014.
ON TAP: Up next for Jac Haudenschild and the Destiny Motorsports team will be a weekend of action with the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions at the Attica Raceway Park this Friday and Saturday night.
