FALL BRAWLS
Bryan Howland made history in the most exciting finish in Canadian Sprint Car Nationals history at Oshweken Speedway, becoming the first driver to win the CSCN A-Feature after qualifying from a B-Feature. Howland, who started 20th in the main event, did not let having to transfer from the B-Main keep him from winning Canada’s biggest sprint car race. He led the final lap after crossing the finish line three wide with Steve Poirier and Parker Price-Miller to win the 11th Annual Canadian Sprint Car Nationals by inches. The win was Howland’s first Canadian Nationals victory in one of the most thrilling finishes in Canadian Nationals history to take home the $12,000 winner’s prize.Howland crossed the line just 0.112 seconds ahead of Poirier, a fellow EAGLE driver. All 30 cars were still running at the finish.
It was all EAGLE in the ASCS Midwest Fall Brawl with twin A-Features at I-80 Speedway. These were split between South Dakota’s Justin Henderson and Nebraska’s Billy Alley. Henderson claimed the first feature which lead to a twelve car inversion for the second. Alley held the point for the duration, unchallenged, to get his first win with the National Tour since 2006, it was his seventh career feature win, it was his first at the I-80 Speedway in ASCS National competition.
The North was also treated to two EMI victories. Mark Dobmeier was back in black with the white/black paint scheme and blistered the field at River Cities Speedway with his Eagle. The sweep was conducted by Roland Bernard who captured the Lightning Sprint portion of the event.
The newly crowned Port Royal Speedway Champion carried some momentum over to Williams Grove Speedway. As the SCHNEE stack tube driver posted a victory on Friday night in his own car.
A fellow SCHNEE driver, Austin Pierce, visited Buffalo River Race Park for the "King of Wings" race. From the front, Pierce pulled out to a rather comfortable lead in his Opp Construction #2A and cruised to the $2,000 payday in front of a capacity crowd.
EMi's Rick Hench traveled to Kansas for a two day event at Decatur County Speedway. The test session proved very successful as Rick swept both nights with the RMSLA in his HENCHCRAFT.
Newly crowned HENCHCRAFT Champions include Justin Ward the 2015 Cherry Raceway Champion and Jared Gundersen the Deming Speedway Champion.
