Hunt The Front Super Dirt Series
Dalton Cook returns to Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series in 2024
Dalton Cook is planning a return for his second tour with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series following last year’s fifth-place finish in series points. Cook had five top-five finishes and 11 top-10s in Hunt the Front action last season. The 31-year-old Salem, Ala., driver recorded top-five finishes at Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, Ga. (second); Cochran (Ga.) Motor Speedway (third); Senoia (Ga.) Raceway (fourth); Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tenn. (fifth); and Rome (Ga.) Speedway (fifth). His runner-up finish at Needmore came after winning his heat.
Cook is coming off of a three-win season after entering a modest 38 events in 2023. He registered a pair of Southern All Star wins, one at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Summertown, Tenn., and one at Southern Raceway in Milton, Fla. Cook also grabbed a victory during weekly action at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Ala. Along with his three victories, Cook netted 15 top-five finishes and 24 top-10 finishes.
An owner/driver who fields a Clements-powered Rocket Chassis, Cook is no stranger to travel. Cook has three career Southern All Star wins and has finished fifth in SAS points the last two seasons while competing with the Alabama-bases series on a part-time basis. In 2022 he won the Dirt Slingers Classic, a $5,000-to-win Southern All Stars-sanctioned race at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tenn.
He also has a 2021 Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series win at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Miss., on his resume, as well as a handful of victories with the now-defunct National Late Model Sportsman Series, including the 2018 Alabama State Championship at Phenix City’s East Alabama Motor Speedway, which paid $5,000-to-win.
When he’s not racing, Cook isn’t far removed from the sport as he owns and operates Wrap Tech Signz, a Columbus, Ga.-based company that specializes in race car and kart wraps, decals, banners and general sign design.
