Cody Cambensy Continues to Dominate the Thunder Truck Series at Tucson Speedway

26 Promotions – Tucson, AZ – (May 28, 2020) – The last time Cambensy was at the track he was celebrating a weekend sweep of the Thunder Truck Series during the Chilly Willy, now after a four month break in action, Cambensy returned to the track looking to pick up exactly where he left off.
“The truck was perfect in practice, so we didn’t change much for qualifying and we were able to pick up our second pole of the season,” Cambensy said. “We rolled into the weekend with an 18-point lead, my goal for the weekend was to have a solid points night.”
Lining up on the pole and picking up the heat race win would help Cambensy accomplish that goal, but with an 8-car invert in affect it would also mean starting from the fourth row in Sunday’s Thunder Truck feature event.
“We made some minor changes going into the feature and the truck was amazing! We went from eighth to first in one lap and stretched the lead to over a straightaway,” explained Cambensy. “With Gary, Joe, and Brandon on the wrenches, we went on to pick up our third win of the season, keeping our season at a perfect record.”
With the victory, Cambensy extended his Thunder Truck Series Championship points lead to 40 as the trucks head back to Tucson Speedway on June 20th.
“I was pumped to get back to racing after this long break! The truck was bad fast all weekend and it was a great way to get back to racing,” he said. “Thank you to Brad and Joann and everyone else at TMI for the continued support.
