Kubota High Limit Racing

TRIPLE THREAT: 3 Races in 3 States in 4 Days for Kubota High Limit Racing

It's a busy little stretch for Kubota High Limit Racing with appearances at Iowa's 34 Raceway, Illinois' Tri-City Speedway, and Indiana's Kokomo Speedway coming over a four-day span.

It begins on Friday, May 10 at West Burlington, IA's 34 Raceway for a $12,000-to-win, $1,200-to-start A-Main. Nearly 40 cars are expected for Kubota High Limit Racing's return to the track.

On Saturday, May 11, another track hosts Kubota High Limit Racing for the second time with Granite City, IL's Tri-City Speedway bringing another $12,000-to-win, $1,200-to-start A-Main.

On Monday, May 13, the Midweek Money Series resumes with a $20,000-to-win, $1,500-to-start race at "Indiana's Baddest Bullring," Kokomo Speedway. It's the unofficial kickoff to the "Month of May" as Kyle Larson races the High Rollers just 12 hours before beginning his practice run at the Indianapolis 500.

Here's a few of the top storylines entering this week:

POINTS SHAKEUP: Even with only two events contested last week at Kansas City's Lakeside Speedway, the Kubota High Limit Racing championship standings still saw some major changes.

Thanks to back-to-back wins worth $70,000 - four wins in last five races - Brad Sweet has moved the Kasey Kahne Racing, NAPA Auto Parts #49 atop the charts. "The Big Cat" now holds an eight-point advantage over Tyler Courtney's Clauson-Marshall Racing, NOS Energy Drink #7BC, which held the points lead from East Bay until Lakeside.

Behind them, the battle for the fifth and final High Stakes Charter continues to rage on. Through Texas and Oklahoma, Spencer Bayston's CJB Motorsports #5 and Jacob Allen's Shark Racing #1A were swapping it left and right, but now it's in the sole possession of Rico Abreu's #24.

A MATTER OF WHEN, NOT IF: Two of the biggest surprises thus far with Kubota High Limit Racing in 2024 is that Brent Marks and Rico Abreu have both made it to May without a win with the series. Don't expect that to remain the same for long.

Each Abreu and Marks have already beat the World of Outlaws in 2024 and currently run inside the top-five of Kubota High Limit Racing points. Marks, like Sweet, has been perfect when it comes to top-10 finishes this year - 12 such results in 12 races with the series.

HOOSIER HEROES: Of the 16 full-time High Rollers, no state is represented more than Indiana with five drivers on the roster. On Monday at Kokomo Speedway, they get to race on home turf for the first of two times this month with Kubota High Limit Racing - the second being at Lawrenceburg Speedway on Friday, May 31.

Kokomo's own Parker Price-Miller leads the way, living only a handful of minutes away from "Indiana's Baddest Bullring." Monrovia's Justin Peck is racing for an extra cause, not only defending his 2023 High Limit win at Kokomo, but representing title sponsor Avanti Windows and Doors on his #13. Indianapolis' Tyler Courtney has dominated at Kokomo for years in the USAC ranks, but still chases his first wing win at the track. Lebanon's Spencer Bayston is another former USAC Midget winner looking for his first victory with High Limit. Angola's Zeb Wise earned his first big Sprint Car win at Kokomo in 2021, topping the Rayce Rudeen Foundation Race with the All Stars.

KICKING OFF THE MONTH OF MAY: Moving to Monday, May 13 - Kokomo's date with Kubota High Limit Racing is now the unofficial beginning of the famed "Month of May" for Kyle Larson.

The defending Midweek Money Series champion with Kubota High Limit Racing will race Paul Silva's #57 Sprint Car on Monday at Kokomo - where he finished P2 last year - and then a mere 12 hours later, he'll be on track at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway practicing the Arrow-McLaren #17 as he prepares for the Indy 500 / Coke 600 double this month.

ROUTE 34: All but two (Corey Day & Tanner Thorson) of the 16 High Rollers have raced at West Burlington, Iowa's 34 Raceway before and they've all seen their fair share of success at the track. This Friday, 34 joins Lakeside Speedway as the second returning track from the 2023 schedule with Kubota High Limit Racing.

The 15 full-timers who have competed at 34 have all finished inside the top-10 before with either High Limit, World of Outlaws, All Star Circuit of Champions, or IRA.

Most notably, Parker Price-Miller (2020) and Brad Sweet (2021) are former winners in West Burlington with the World of Outlaws. Zeb Wise, driving for Rudeen Racing, also won at 34 Raceway last summer during his championship run with the All Stars.

TO THE 'LOU: On Saturday, Tri-City Speedway joins 34 Raceway as a returning track to Kubota High Limit Racing. Last year, the 35-lapper outside of St. Louis brought fans to their feet as Kyle Larson and Rico Abreu went slider-for-slider battling for the win.

Another track that is no stranger to the High Rollers, all full-timers except for Corey Day have raced at the Granite City, IL track. No worries for Day, though, all three of his wins this year (RPM, Red Dirt, Riverside) have came upon his first visit to each track.

Six High Rollers have already visited victory lane at Tri-City with Parker Price-Miller and Rico Abreu both winning MOWA races before. Brad Sweet, Tyler Courtney, Tanner Thorson, and Chris Windom have all triumphed in the USAC ranks at the track.

GYATK: Every High Roller except for Brent Marks has gotten their *** to Kokomo before, but that changes on Monday when he makes his first laps the Indiana bullring.

Of the other full-timers that have raced at Kokomo, a whopping nine of them have #ParkedIt in BC Victory Lane. Justin Peck will enter as the defending winner with Kubota High Limit Racing, while Zeb Wise (2021 All Star Circuit of Champions) and James McFadden (2021 World of Outlaws) have also won with wings on top at the track.

Noted USAC aces Tyler Courtney, Rico Abreu, Spencer Bayston, Tanner Thorson, Chris Windom, and Brad Sweet have won in either Midgets or Non-Wing Sprint Cars at Kokomo, as well.

MIDWEEK SERIES RESUMES: Monday's trip to Kokomo Speedway marks the third of nine Midweek Money Series events - the first since Corey Day made it back-to-back wins at Arkansas' Riverside International Speedway on Tuesday, April 23.

Entering the $20,000-to-win, $1,500-to-start event, Day leads the mini-series points ahead of Tyler Courtney (-14), Brent Marks (-29), Brad Sweet (-32), and Tanner Thorson (-37).
