Inside Line Promotions – ELDON, Mo. (Aug. 19, 2019) – Roger Crockett captured his second victory of the season and his first career at Lake Ozark Speedway on Saturday night.

“The car was really fast all night,” he said. “That’s the kind of night you want to have.”

The night was a clean sweep for Crockett, who powered from fifth to win a heat race.

“We got a good start and everybody slipped off the bottom,” he said. “I probably would have run second, but there was a yellow and I was able to get the lead after the restart. I was closing on the guy for the lead, but I’m not sure I would have got by him without that caution.

“They do their main event lineup strictly off heat race points. We were first in points so that gave us the pole position. The guy on the outside got the jump. My car wasn’t great around the bottom of the track. We went a lap and there was a yellow. I moved to the top after the restart and he may have led one or two more laps before I got by on the top. Nobody was really running up there, especially in turns three and four. My car was really good on the top up on the fence keeping momentum up. It was nice to have a good handling car all night.”

Crockett led the majority of the race to score the triumph.

“I’m very confident in my new Maxim chassis,” he said of the car he debuted earlier this month at the 360 Knoxville Nationals. “We have a pretty good handle on it. We didn’t have great results from the first couple of nights of running it, but we were gaining confidence and I’m glad it’s starting to pay off.”

Crockett resumes Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour competition this Saturday at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark. He has raced at the track once, earning a top five during an ASCS National Tour Speedweek event in 2005.
