Bill Balog Claims Victory at the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association (IRA) Season Opener

Hartland, Wisconsin (April 27th, 2021) – After nearly a month on the road Bill Balog and B Squared Motorsports enjoyed a “home game” at the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association season opener at Beaver Dam Raceway. The North Pole Nightmare qualified second quick locking him into the dash and an eventual 6th place starting position in the A-Main. The Anderson’s Maple Syrup 17B driver wasted no time, powered by Hans Lein’s Mopar engine, rocketing to the lead before the first completed circuit and never looked back to lead all 30 laps en route to his first victory of the season and 128th IRA A-Main event win of his career.

“Racing with the All Star Circuit of Champions is a high level of intensity and it really helped us tonight early in the A-Main. It was great to get the win and see so many friends like Greg Renderman and previous championship winning car owner Mike Urner. A ton of people came out and stopped by the trailer in the cold Wisconsin weather.”

Despite the limited amount of highway miles, the night was far from easy as the B Squared Motorsports team “thrashed all night” getting the car prepped for the A-Main. “After stumbling early, we changed gearing, rear torsion bars and worked to tighten the car up all night,” said driver Bill Balog. The team even changed spark plugs on the Hans Lein owned Mopar engine after routine maintenance fouled a plug and affected the early portion of the evening.
