The Night of the 2’s!!!
Bristol, WI – April 30, 2015. Saturday night’s Interstate Racing Association program at the Beaver Dam Raceway was postponed one night, but it did not slow down Bill Balog. The “Northpole Nightmare” returned to the third-mile facility for his second IRA show of the season aboard the Lein Acres #2. Thirty-one cars were in attendance with Bill laying down the 6th fastest lap in qualifying. Lining up in the 5th starting position in the heat race, Bill quickly made his way into the 4th position when the green flew and finished there in a mostly single file affair. With a 4th place starting position in the feature, Bill got a jump at the start to move into the 3rd position. Two laps into the feature he would make his way into 2nd and set his sights on the leader. On lap five, Bill would slide into the lead before a lap seven caution. Once back racing Bill look to be in control until a bobble in turns one and two let Bill Rose make his way past, dropping Bill back into 2nd. Bill would chase the #6R experimenting with a few different lines until finding the high side of the track to his liking powering around Rose on lap nineteen. Caution flew two more times, but on each restart Bill would pull away to comfortable advantages to pick up Win #2 of 2015 ahead of Ian Madsen and Scotty Neitzel.
This weekend, Bill will return to the seat of the B2 Motorsports #17B as they plan to head to the “Sprint Car Capital of the World”, the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, IA for the half-mile track’s season opener on Saturday. The following weekend, Bill will once again pilot the #17B sprinter as the National Sprint League will be back in action for Round #2 of their inaugural season. First up on Friday, May 8th, Bill and the series will visit the third-mile oval of the Eagle Raceway in Eagle, NE. The following night, Saturday, May 9th, Bill and the series will head east to the Knoxville Raceway.
