Parker Martin grabs runner-up finish in Golden Hornet 50 at Talladega

Parker Martin started off his weekend at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon to compete with Crate Racin' USA.

Following the ninth-quickest lap in his qualifying group, Parker made up a couple spots in his heat to earn a seventh-row starting spot in the feature. With $5,000 on the line in the main event, Martin moved forward five spots to finish inside the Top-10 in eighth.

For Saturday's Golden Hornet 50 at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.), Martin topped the qualifying charts in his group before picking up a heat race victory. Rolling off fourth in the $10,000-to-win feature, Parker battled with the leaders but was unable to catch race-winner Cory Hedgecock when the checkered flag flew. Trynt Lloyd, Ryan King, and Cruz Skinner rounded out the Top-5.
