Martin follows World of Outlaws to Charlotte for World Finals
On Wednesday evening, Parker Martin was in action at The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) for the annual World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series World Finals. (Zach Yost photo)
Following a 24th-fastest qualifying effort in his group, Parker recorded an eighth-to-sixth run in his heat race, relegating him to a B-Main. Failing to lock in to the Top-2, Martin advanced two positions before ultimately falling one spot short of the feature.
The following night, Martin failed to record a qualifying lap, but went from the tail of his heat race to an eighth-place finish. Despite making up three more spots in his consolation race, Martin was unable to crack the top-2 transferring spots.
For the $25,000-to-win finale, Parker charged from seventh-to-second in his heat race to lock in the ninth starting position in the 50-lap feature. Martin rode around in the Top-15 for much of the first half before fading to 20th and eventually pulling off the track. He completed 30 laps and was scored 23rd.
