Memorial weekend racing starts with Hometown Season Opener and Finishing at Wichita Speedway
Andrew “The Real” Deal is amped to run his hometown track at Caney Valley Speedway, this Saturday May 27th. The OCRS Sprint Car Series will be there for this tracks season opener. Last year in Caney, Deal battled Sheldon Barksdale running second majority of the race. Barksdale and Deal put on a driving clinic, as both drivers jockeyed for position and each threw major slide jobs. In a last-ditch effort with only a few laps left, Deal tried to pass Barksdale on the high side, but unfortunately broke a left rear shock causing the car to flip. Deal is determined to put on another great show for the fans and has high hopes for achieving his first home town win in the sprint car. Be sure to cheer on the 15D! This Saturday night will be packed with racing action, Deal always looks forward to racing close to home.
After Saturday night, the team will repack and load both sprint cars (21R and 15D) into the trailer and head to Wichita to run in the NCRA SERIES. With only a couple weekend races in the car, Deal says “it’s still a learning experience, each time we run we get better and better”. This is the first year for the team to run ASCS and NCRA series. New car and bigger motor means different challenges. But hopeful we will continue to improve and keep having fun!
