Paul McMahan Puts On Two Hard Charges at Cedar Lake Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: Coming in off of one of his best weekends of the year with his Destiny Motorsports team, Paul McMahan showed speed in both feature events at the Cedar Lake Speedway over the weekend as he picked up two 12th place finishes after coming from the tail end of the field.

“We didn’t time in well either night and that put us in the back of our heat races both night,” Paul McMahan said. “We came through the B Main both nights and really had two nice runs in both features I thought.”

Friday night at the Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, WI, McMahan would time the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Benic Enterprises No. 7 machine in 20th fastest.

Finishing sixth in his heat race, McMahan would finish third in the Last Chance Showdown and earn one of the final spots into the 35-lap feature event. Gridding the field from the 23rd starting position, McMahan had a strong Rick Rogers Construction/Maxim Chassis as he worked his way forward.

A very racy surface would see the Nashville, TN driver close his night out with KSE Hard Charger honors as he finished in the 12th spot.

Back in action on Saturday night, McMahan would improve his qualifying effort a touch as he would time in 15th fastest. Finishing seventh in his heat, McMahan would grid the field from the second row in the LCS and finish in the third spot, again advancing into the feature event.

Lining up in the 21st starting position, McMahan would again come alive in the feature event. The always-exciting Cedar Lake Speedway provided another exceptional surface, and McMahan made the best of it as he carved his way forward.

Getting into the 12th spot, McMahan would search for a spot in the Top-10, but would close his weekend out with another 12th place finish.

“12th place are not what we are striving for, but to come from the 11th and 12th row both nights shows that we can race well,” McMahan said. “We are still searching for more speed in time trials, and I believe once we can put ourselves in a good position for these heat races better results will come.”

Destiny Motorsports would like to thank MonDak Portables, Ft. Union Supply and Trading, Benic Enterprises, Rick Rogers Construction, Maxim Chassis, Boss Signs and Graphics, Driver Websites, Petersen Media, FK Rod Ends, Walker Performance Filtration, KSE Racing Products, ButlerBuilt, Simpson Race Products, Parker Engines, Keizer Wheels, DMI, Red Devil Brakes, Champion Oil, All Pro Cylinder Heads, Astro Titanium, and Hoosier Tire for their continued support.
