Hafertepe Jr. Returns to World Finals This Week Looking to Continue Top-10 Streak

Inside Line Promotions – SUNNYVALE, Texas (Nov. 2, 2015) – Sam Hafertepe Jr. is headed to North Carolina this week seeking his fifth straight Bad Boy Buggies World of Outlaws World Finals with at least one top-10 finish.

Hafertepe Jr. will drive for Hill's Racing Team at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord this Thursday through Saturday during the marquee World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event.

“The biggest thing going there is I haven’t run a lot of 410 stuff this year and we haven’t run a lot of races with these guys,” he said. “Hopefully we hit on something quick when we get there and we get balanced real well. Hopefully we can at least contend to make the dash each night.”

Hafertepe Jr. missed last year’s event after recording an eighth-place finish in 2013. That marked the fourth consecutive year with a top 10 at the 4/10-mile oval.

“I’ve got notes from the past in times we’ve ran pretty good there,” he said. “First off we have to get qualified real good. Then see if we can get in the dash both nights through the heat race. We want to pull off a couple of top 10s. That’d be a realistic approach for us.”

Hafertepe Jr. has won three of his last four races and he has earned a top-10 finish during 12 of the last 13 events.

“It’s always nice to end the year on a good note,” he said. “We hope to go there and put two top-10 efforts in.”

Hafertepe Jr. elected not to race during the 28th annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals, which was consolidated into one day last week at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., because of the weather.
