Inside Line Promotions – AVON, Ind. (June 25, 2019) – Blake Cannon led the way for the Swindell SpeedLab eSports Team on Monday when the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series season on iRacing got underway at Volusia Speedway Park.

Cannon came out on top of a spirited battle for the runner-up result during the 50-lap feature, finishing 2.213 seconds behind the leader at the half-mile oval.

“I had a really good piece,” he said during a post-race interview with the iRacing eSports Network. “(On) that long green flag run I had run Hayden (Cardwell) down a little bit and we were kinda mirroring lap times. Then the top kinda went away and I had nothing. To come home second, I was just hanging on there at the end.

“The big picture is definitely in mind here. Second is definitely a great way to start the season.”

Teammate Blake Matjoulis recorded an eighth-place finish while fellow Swindell SpeedLab eSports Team driver Kendal Tucker, who won a heat race, narrowly missed a top-10 finish by placing 11th.

James Edens, who led the team during the sprint car season, garnered a 13th-place run and Adam Elby ended 19th.

The series resumes action next Monday at Limaland Motorsports Park.
