Outlaw Non-Wing and Restricted Heats Open 35th Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout

Bryan Hulbert – TULSA, Okla. (January 1, 2020) Sailing through 48 Heat Races to open the 35th annual Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout, action got underway on Wednesday night with Outlaw Non-Wing and Restricted A-Class taking center stage at the Tulsa Expo Raceway.

A total of 406 drivers saw action between the two featured divisions Wednesday night from 275 Municipalities, across 31 States and Australia. With the remaining division set to hit the track on Thursday, January 2 the 35th Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout officially received 1,397 entries with 1,364 of those entries checking in. Outlaw Non-Wing accounts for 304 of those entries with Restricted at 110.

Two drivers have been able to post multiple wins thus far with Ryan Timms (Oklahoma City, Okla.) and Xavier Doney (Odessa, Mo.) each winning in Outlaw Non-Wing and Restricted Heat Races.

Racing continues Thursday, January 1, 2020. The River Spirit Expo Center opens at 8:00 A.M. with racing on track at 9:00 A.M. The day will begin with Race No. 49 and conclude with Race No. 178.

For fans making their way to Tulsa, weekday admission (January 1-3) is $15 per day with Saturday, January 4 at $20. Each day, youth 10 and under get in free with a paid adult. All seating is sold at the event. Each day begins at 9:00 A.M. (CT) with Saturday’s Opening Ceremonies and final chase to the Golden Driller getting underway at 6:00 P.M. (CT).
