Weekend recap: Rosenboom tops MSTS at I-90 Speedway

Jody Rosenboom led every lap in Saturday’s main event for the Property Solutions of America Midwest Sprint Touring Series at I-90 Speedway. The victory was Rosenboom’s first of the year with MSTS and his first MSTS win at the speedway where he was champion in 2003. Overall, this was Rosenboom’s fourth MSTS win (Rapid Speedway – September 15, 2017; Off Road Speedway – June 23, 2018; Wagner Speedway – August 28, 2020) and his fourth career win at I-90 Speedway.

MSTS Contingencies:
• KNDsafety.com winner: Jody Rosenboom
• Cressman Sanitation Hard Charger: Tyler Rabenberg
• A+ Towing Hard Luck Award: Eric Lutz

Lee Goos, Jr. got his first win of the year at I-90 Speedway in the Spielman Excavating IMCA Sprint Cars. For Goos, this was his first win in the division at the track – and his fourth overall win at I-90 Speedway. He was most recently in victory lane on June 30, 2001.

The winning ways continue for Cory Yeigh in the T&R Contracting Late Model Street Stocks as he claimed win 3 of the year in Hartford – which now moves him to 30 career wins at the track. Yeigh also took home the trophy Friday night in LMSS Touring Series action at the Murray County Speedway in Slayton, Minnesota.

Camden Myers raced to his second win of 2021 in the Great Western Bank USRA B-Modified feature event. The race was red flagged when a massive pileup of cars sent Dave Kennedy flipping down the backstretch. Aaron DeThury would also tip over in the incident. All drivers were unharmed.

Tracy Halouska scored his third career I-90 Speedway victory on Saturday night – his first at the track in 2021. Jason Scott was unharmed when his #37 flipped multiple times at the exit of turn two in the main event. Tyler Schlumbohm took home the $100 nightly hard charger award from Precision Drywall for his efforts going position 18 on the lineup to second at the finish line.
