Lucas Oil ASCS Looking At $10,000 To Win At Badlands Motor Speedway On Sunday

TULSA, Okla. (July 28, 2016) A Sunday night at the track with 10,000 reasons to be there is on tap on July 31 as the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network hits the high-banked Badlands Motor Speedway in Brandon, S.D. for the first time for a $10,000 to win shootout with some of the best talent in the Midwest.

Formerly known as Huset’s Speedway, the facility was purchased by Sioux Falls businessman, Chuck Brennan, in 2015. Closing out the season, the facility was revamped with nearly $10,000,000 worth of improvements and for the 2016 season, the track built by Til Huset in 1953 entered a new era as Badlands Motor Speedway.

A high-banked, three-eighths mile oval, the track has been a hotbed for Sprint Car racing since the 1980’s. A favorite among drivers with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series that have already turned laps at the South Dakota oval, several National Tour drivers took to Badlands Motor Speedway this past Sunday to test and tune for this Sunday’s $10,000 to win event. Terry McCarl topped the MSTS A-Feature for his 101st overall win at the facility.

With races leading into the Sunday showdown at Park Jefferson Speedway on Thursday, July 28, the championship leads belongs to Sam Hafertepe, Jr. with Johnny Herrera in tow. Blake Hahn, Wayne Johnson, and Logan Forler currently make up the top-five in tour standings. The remainder of the top-ten includes Seth Bergman, Matt Covington, Aaron Reutzel, Kyle Bellm, and Brad Loyet.

Sunday, July 31 at Badlands Motor Speedway will also feature USRA Hobby Stocks and Micros. Admission for adults is $20 with gates opening at 5:00 P.M. and racing at 7:00 P.M. (CDT). Badlands Motor Speedway is located at 2012 S. Splitrock Blvd. in Brandon, S.D. For more information, log onto http://www.badlandsmotorspeedway.com. Tickets can be purchased at Badlands Pawn, Gold & Jewelry in Sioux Falls, S.D. or the day of the race.
