Bagley finishes as runner-up in CCSDS championship fight

Team 14's Morgan Bagley entered the final weekend of the 2024 COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) season second in points and as one three drivers with a chance to win the championship. Despite a valiant effort, he came up just 11 points shy of the series title, but turned in a solid runner-up result to champion Logan Martin.

He also claimed two top-10 finishes to close out the year’s CCSDS campaign.

On Friday, Bagley was one of 25 CCSDS competitors at 67 Speedway of Texarkana (Arkansas) on the track’s First Responders Night. He drove his Billy Bob’s Repair & Tire No. 14M Super Late Model to third in his heat race on the quarter-mile oval, then rolled off eighth in the 40-lap, $5,000-to-win main event. He climbed two positions and finished sixth, but slipped to third in the standings behind race winner B.J. Robinson as Martin maintained the top spot.

The next night, the schedule shifted to Chatham, Louisiana's Super Bee Speedway for the 31st annual Spooky 50. Twenty Super Late Models were at the quarter-mile track for another $5,000-to-win program to conclude the CCSDS season.

Bagley won his heat and started from the second spot in the 40-lap feature. He maintained that position throughout the event and finished as runner-up, taking the checkered flag 0.713 seconds behind winner Jon Mitchell. Third place went to Clayton Stuckey, with Kyle Beard and Shane Hebert rounding out the top five.

Bagley also vaulted back ahead of Robinson to claim his second-place points result and conclude a CCSDS season in which he scored two wins.
