Blazing Saddles jet-truck, Sooner Late Models coming to Enid Speedway Saturday

John Rittenoure - ENID, Okla. (September 6, 2022) - A special red-hot performance by a jet-truck and Sooner Series Late Models will highlight Saturday nights (Sept. 10) racing program at Enid Speedway.

Texan Tammy Gatlin will bring her Blazing Saddles jet-truck to Enid Speedway Saturday and will burn a car to the ground with the flames shooting from her trucks jet engine. Gatlin will also be on hand to visit with fans during the evening.

The Complete Well Testing Sooner Late Models return with a full program for the sixth time this season. The previous five events has produced three different winners. Local favorite Dustin Allen has two victories while Brett Hansen of Muskogee, Sooner Series points leader Hayden Ross of Muskogee and 4-time defending champion Kip Hughes of Enid have one each.

Two weeks ago Hansen won his fifth Sooner feature of the season at Tulsa Speedway while newcomer Clint McFadden of Valley Center, Kansas captured a win at Caney Valley Speedway.

Ross leads the points race over Hughes with 19 events in the books. Eddie Martin, Richard Shepler and Hansen round out the top five.

Factory Stocks, Sport Mods and Hot Shots will also complete in regular points competition. Logan Macy of Hennessey leads the factory points race while Kyle Wiens of Newton, Kansas tops the sport mods. David Wagner of Enid tops the Hot Shot points race.

Pits open at 3 p.m. and the grandstands at 4. Racing will get underway at 7:30.
