Inside Line Promotions – SPENCER, Iowa (March 22, 2021) – Justin Henderson and car owner Mike Sandvig are set to kick off their third season together with a trio of races in Central Pennsylvania this weekend.

The duo will make the 1,700-mile trip to the Keystone State to compete at the legendary Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg on Friday followed by a stop at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal on Saturday. They will finish out the weekend on Sunday at Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove.

“I feel really good heading into Pennsylvania,” Henderson said. “Mike and his team put a lot of effort into the cars this offseason and we’re as ready as we’ve ever been as a team. We found a lot of speed toward the end of last season and I think that should carry over for this season as we head to Pennsylvania.”

While this will be the first trip to Pennsylvania for the duo, Henderson has turned many laps at all three tracks as he was a regular in the area for a handful of seasons driving for Dawn and Charlie Sorokach as well as Mark Coldren. Henderson has three career victories at Williams Grove Speedway and a pair of triumphs at Port Royal Speedway. He’s hoping that experience will pay dividends for the Sandvig Racing team.

“I’ve been to these tracks and I have my own ideas on how to run these tracks, but it’s also been a bit since I’ve been in Pennsylvania so we’re kind of coming in with an open mind,” he said. “We’ll see where we are after hot laps and try to go from there. I really feel confident that our program and my knowledge together can make us successful.”

The team’s goal is to create a notebook and get a baseline for a possible trip back to Pennsylvania later in the season when the various tracks in the state host a multitude of higher-paying events after racing is completed at their regular weekend home of Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.

“If we can go out there and perform well it’s going to help us long term in our goals of coming back more often,” Henderson said. “When you run well, sponsors see that and we’ll feel more confident in coming back. The goal is to perform and if we do that part we’ll figure out the rest later.”

While Henderson is looking forward to all three nights of racing, he’s most excited about making the trip to Port Royal Speedway on Saturday. With all of the recent upgrades the facility has made over the years, Henderson is thrilled to seeing the facility in person and he believes the half-mile track most resembles Knoxville Raceway than any other.

“Anybody paying attention to the dirt track racing world knows how far Port Royal has come over the years and I’m excited to just get out and be part of that atmosphere for the night,” he said. “I enjoy all three of these tracks, but Port Royal is similar to Knoxville in terms of layout and I’m hopeful we can use that experience there to be successful.”

As the team is prepared for the trip and looking forward to the chance to see where they stack up in competition against the famed Pennsylvania Posse regulars, Henderson and Sandvig are continuing to search for marketing partners interested in coming on board for the Pennsylvania swing. Whether it be for fuel or tires or a primary sponsorship, every little bit will go a long way as they are embarking on the cross-country journey.

Local Pennsylvania restaurant Mamma’s Pizza of Wellsville has already come on board in support of their efforts along with Emory Transmissions of Camp Hill. Both Sandvig and Henderson are thankful for the support.

“This sport isn’t cheap and we’re coming a long way from home to do this deal,” Henderson said. “The Pennsylvania fans are really receptive and always seem to be willing to lend an extra hand and we’re looking forward to putting on a show for them. Whether it be an extra hand in the pits, a sponsor or fans wanting to help, we’re thankful for it all and I can’t wait to get there.”
