Dorsett Does it!

In an emotional victory lane Drew Dorsett paid respects to his late grandfather Don who the Memorial event was named for. The Don Dorsett Memorial was an MMSA race run at Paragon Speedway in Paragon, IN. Most known for sprint car action the twenty six car Lightning Sprint division heated up the track with Dorsett claiming the win. Dorsett quipped "with family and friends everywhere and to have a car that was on a rail last night was perfect! I can honestly say someone was sitting in that car last night pushing me along!" Everyone at EMI is both excited and very proud of his teams accomplishments on such a special night.

A fellow HENCHCRAFT driver, Don Harvey, put some miles on this weekend and was able to make them worth a win at Millstream Speedway. Don towed to the ILSS event on the previous evening only to encounter some engine woes which were fixed for the Millstream race.

Staying with the HENCHCRAFT victors, Justin Ward continued his domination of Cherry Raceway capturing his fourth victory and tying last season record with another half a season yet to go.

Justin Henderson is no stranger to Knoxville victory lane. The BDS crew has been on fire all season leading the win and quick qualifier stats. Saturday was no different as they prepare for the most important two weeks of sprint car racing.

On home turf, two drivers picked up victories. Jack Dover drove to the win on the final night at I-80 appropriately titled "The Road to Knoxville." Dover ran away after the last caution to best a field of ASCS National drivers. Just a short distance away Trevor Grossenbacher proved his strength at Eagle Raceway by yet again winning the IMCA RaceSaver division feature.

The fourth EAGLE winner was Thomas Kennedy at Jackson Speedway. Thomas clicked off the win counter in his first venture to this facility. This young man is maturing into quite a versatile driver.

SCHNEE Chassis had three familiar front runners this weekend. Two by former wins and one by name. Roger Campbell continued his success at Butler Speedway while Jason Martin clinched another Bull Ring Nationals at Rush County Speedway.

Kerry Kinser resurrected a SCHNEE Chassis from a unique place and then won with it at Atomic Speedway. Apparently the car had been discarded many years ago and was drug out of the junk pile to prove it still had life left in it.

STALLARD winners included Ryan Marsch at Double X Speedway, Michael Allen at Clarksville Speedway, and Frank Galusha at KAM Raceway driving the STALLARD SSt chassis. This marks the sixth win of the season for Frank and the new chassis design.
